“Not only do we grieve as individuals; we grieve as communities. Our lives are so intertwined that each of us is affected by a death in our community.”  John Morgan

The conversation of death can be challenging and uncomfortable and is often accompanied by fear and denial.  Our goal is to support those who are in their dying process, comfort children who grieve, educate the community with their options and advocate for those who need a voice.  We would be honoured to walk along side you on your journey, on your path.

The Community Center for Death Care and Education is a resource for healthcare professionals, teachers and students, communities and families who need support and guidance during times of grief and loss.

Between 70 and 75 decisions are made within the first 24-48 hours of death.  It’s difficult to think rationally while making so many decisions within days of losing someone.  It is better to prepare.

Since 2005 Holly has worked as a Forensic Autopsy Technician.  With a Bachelors in Forensic Science, she has assisted in thousands of autopsies including sudden, unexpected, and unnatural deaths as well as perinatal and infant deaths.  She has also has spent time working in a funeral home companioning families in their grief as well as a Hospice volunteer.

Holly is currently the only Canadian teacher with the Institute of Birth Breath and Death.  She specializes in pregnancy, infancy and child loss and also educates health care professionals on how to be a companion for grieving families with such a heart-wrenching loss.

Holly’s passion is to bring death education to schools, communities, and families so that when tragedy hits people are better prepared for its immediate affects and its aftershocks.  Holly is a certified Celebrant for funerals, memorials and Celebrations of Life and encourages family members and friends to be actively involved in all aspects of saying goodbye.

Holly offers a multitude of training's and workshops including an 8 Week Children’s Grief Support Group, an 8 Week Trauma Loss Support Group and a Equine Facilitated 4 Week Kids Grief Support Camp.  Holly’s vast knowledge of death, dying, and grief has been a service to the community for many years and will continue to be of service for many more to come.

Support, comfort, educate and advocate.
